“Tie Story” for Jan, Holly, Rich and Adrian from California

7th September 2016 | Categories: Uncategorised

Visitors are always surprised when they tour the Cotswolds on electric bikes. The enchanting towns and villages are a magnet for vintage car enthusiasts which make the perfect historical back drop for their vehicles. Rich and Adrian were delighted to chat to the owners of a vintage Bentley and Jaguar in Burford, having just enjoyed a delicious light lunch at Maison Blanc – the chocolate mousse is superb, as good as the chocolate in Switzerland according to Adrian, who was born there!

Making the most of the beautiful day, we extended the tour to explore Lower Slaughter. Most of the village was decorated with flags and bunting, although one cottage was covered in a very wide selection of neck ties. When we enquired, we were told that they were allegedly collected by a previous occupant from each of her  lovers! Everyone enjoys a good story in the Cotswolds.
