About

If a picture paints a thousand words, then hopefully this short video will give you a sense of how an e-bike in the Cotswolds is the perfect way to explore this beautiful, but hilly landscape!

The Cotswold Hills are England’s largest Area Of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). This protected landscape offers some of the finest cycling in the whole country with magnificent views, a rich tapestry of seasonal wild flowers and of course, ancient towns, villages and miles of dry stone walls crafted from the indigenous Oolitic limestone.

Our guided electric bike tours are the perfect way to explore the outstanding scenery and idyllic towns and villages of the North West Cotswolds. Our top quality electric bikes, designed in the UK, help cut hills down to size by using sophisticated sensors to team your pedalling power to a responsive  electric motor. Your expert local guide will lead the ride at a relaxed pace the ride and help you appreciate the history and natural history of the area.

Every ride starts with short familiarisation session to ensure you get the most from your bike and that everyone knows how to ride safely in a group. Tours are based on carefully chosen circular routes which take advantage of the quietest country roads and lanes, giving each circuit a subtly different flavour of the Cotswolds. Route vary between 28 – 34 miles (45 – 55km), but have been planned and test ridden to ensure that reasonably fit adults can accomplish them in comfort with the benefit of a quality electric bike. Regrettably, UK law does not allow children under the age of 14 to ride electric bikes, so for the 2023 season we have expanded our fleet using an OxLEP grant with 6 specially developed Tern e-cargo bikes with rear seats capable of safely carrying children under 14 or an adult to bring the joy of riding in the Costwolds to the whole family!

Tours are usually from 10:00 am to around 4:00 pm, but are sometimes extended to ensure that guests aren’t rushed – it is your time to savour and enjoy the Cotswolds.

To help preserve the Cotswolds unique character, part of every Cotswold Electric Bike Tour fee is donated to the AONB’s Visitor Giving Scheme which is used to fund a variety of conservation projects.

Hello

Peter Hill - Cotswold Electric Bike Tours

I started cycling in my teens as a way of exploring the natural history of my native Dorset and in my twenties I completed a number of sponsored rides like the London to Brighton and London to Paris. After a relapse of a couple of decades I re-discovered cycling; first as a way of getting fit and then for what I’d enjoyed most about it before – the joy of feeling actively involved with the countryside. Cycling heightens the senses; you can hear the bird song, feel the changing terrain, enjoy the ever changing vistas as they slowly unwind and experience the rhythm of nature as the seasons change.
