Marit and friends from Norway amazed by the beauty of Autumn in the Cotswolds

19th September 2016 | Categories: Uncategorised

The reputation of the Cotswold Hills as a really special place to visit is spreading. A Norwegian radio broadcast about the area persuaded 4 intrepid ladies from the south of Norway to postpone their planned trip to Barcelona and travel here instead – and they weren’t disappointed!

Wanting to really experience the area, they plucked up courage and booked an electric bike tour from Burford along the beautiful Windrush and Coln valleys. Any worries about whether they would be able to manage the 30 mile (50 km) tour quickly vanished – the ebikes made the miles and hills melt away, while the quiet roads allowed everyone to feast their eyes on the stunning landscapes and villages.

All too soon the tour was over, but we met up for tea with Ursula and Manfred from Augsburg on the last day of their two week e-bike/cycling holiday to compare notes. Everyone agreed that the opportunity to explore such a remarkably preserved landscape on quiet lanes and roads makes the Cotswolds a truly special place to explore, especially on an electric bike!Marit and friends in the CotswoldsEbike tour including Northleach church
