Happy Christmas from Cotswold Electric Bike Tours

24th December 2017 | Categories: Bikes, Cotswolds, Cycling, e-bike holiday, General

One of the most frequently asked questions by guests when they join a Cotswold Electric Bike Tour is, “What’s the weather like in the Cotswold’s in winter?” Most are surprised that, although we are about 52 degrees north, (the same latitude as Calgary) we don’t get much snow and we won’t be getting a white Christmas this year! We did have about 10 cm of snow early in December 2017, but we’ll have to wait until the New Year to see whether mother nature has any more snow for us.

Cycling here in the winter can be great if you pick your day, but spring, summer and autumn are by far the best seasons to get out and enjoy the quiet country lanes on an e-bike. The scenery is even more beautiful too when the trees are in leaf and there are a succession of wild flowers to enjoy in the hedgerows. Longer summer days, it’s light at from around 4 am to 10 pm in the middle of summer, means that it’s possible to enjoy evening rides to the local pubs!

For now, I’d just like to thank all our guests for touring with us in 2017, wish you a very happy Christmas and look forward to seeing many of you again in 2018.
